Phan Tram Anh, 21, will represent Viet Nam at a
United Nations Alliance of Civilisation and Education First Summer
School programme in New York from June 13 to 20.
To celebrate the annual cultural day of Viet Nam''s
ethnic groups, representatives of their communities met in Ha Noi to
launch of a seminar and exhibition titled I Believe I Can – Changes from the Community.
The second Companion of Development press award was launched yesterday
to honour kindness between people and reinforce the belief in a
civilised society, said Le Quang Binh, director of the Institute for
Studies of Society, Economics and Environment (iSEE).
A book fair that opened in Ha Noi on October 10 features more than 8,000
copies of 4,000 publications in various genres such as politics,
culture, history, literature and economics.
Despite residents'' constant groaning over traffic
jams and overcrowded hospitals and schools, Viet Nam is considered the
second happiest country in the world, behind Costa Rica, with Colombia
third.
